They took opposite routes: Dan kept his 9-to-5 and moonlighted for a year, and Thiago quit first and dove straight in.
Both started turning around paid work quickly. And about a year later, both had thriving six-figure consultancies and were running their lives the way they wanted.
Dan runs his full time from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he moved with his wife and three kids.
Thiago picks only the best clients, and now teaches a full 3-credit course on AI at the University of Miami.
Their lives changed, fast.
But they weren’t even close to our fastest students in terms of speed from enrollment to ROI. On Monday you saw Brad land his first customer six weeks in, and Erika turn one three-hour meeting into a $28,500 first month. Dan and Thiago were, by comparison, on the “long term” track, building thriving businesses in about a year each.
Neither of them was techie. Neither had run a business before. They did the work and followed the system.
Today I’ll share their stories in detail so you can decide if you’d like to embark on a similar journey.
By the way, enrollment opened this morning, and the $1,000 in opening-day bonuses end tonight at 11:59 PM Pacific.
Dan was a customer success manager with three young kids. Between the job, dinner, bedtime and making sure his wife got a break too, his only free time was 9:30 p.m. to midnight. He liked his work and his coworkers, but his higher-ups had told him there was no real path to significant salary growth there. He’d hit the ceiling, and he wanted out. So he kept the job and built the consultancy at night.
Thiago had been at the same company for close to 10 years. A restructure, then a merger, and he was working even more than before:
“I was completely burned out… I just needed to completely change my career and change everything about my life.”
He wanted out too, and he didn’t wait: he left the job before he joined us, so the investment wasn’t a casual one. He researched the AI consulting career and researched me before he enrolled.
When Dan joined, he had been playing with ChatGPT and knew far more about it than the people around him. Thiago had years of corporate experience and a knack for teaching. Neither had any idea yet how to turn that into income.
