| Judges have halted President Donald Trump's effort to ban citizenship for babies born in the United States to parents who are undocumented immigrants or in the country on temporary visas, with several issuing orders that apply nationwide. The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to limit those orders to the individuals or states involved in the litigation while the cases make their way through the court system, or to at least allow the relevant agencies to begin developing plans and issuing public guidance for banning birthright citizenship. |
