We have implemented a custom solution for DNC campaigns. As part of this, we validate phone numbers in the contact list against data from our CMS.

If a phone number in the Genesys Cloud contact list differs from the CMS, we skip the campaign call using a Contact List rule. Additionally, our custom middle layer updates the campaign contacts with the correct phone numbers.

Here's something interesting we've observed:

  • The contact list initially contains 13 contacts.
  • We start the campaign, and the progress shows 1/13.
  • Three contacts are skipped and updated with new phone numbers while the campaign is running.
  • After these updates, the campaign progress increases to 16 instead of remaining at 13, even though we only updated the phone numbers of existing contacts (no new contacts were added).

Is this the expected behavior of Genesys Cloud campaigns? Has anyone else experienced this?
