Music Notes

Congratulations to our fourth graders who performed their show, "My Home, Virginia" for their families on Wednesday. They sang, played instruments and danced to songs about Virginia from long ago and today. We are so proud of you!

Mrs. Wilson is looking for helpers for the spring chorus play. Specifically needed is someone to coordinate a small list of furniture and props, and someone to help build a cardboard "book" backdrop from cardboard. Decorating some seating to look like books would be appreciated as well. Your child doesn't have to be in chorus to help!

SCA News

Thank you to everyone who donated this week to our Penny War! We are raising money for Special Olympics, a global sports movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability. The money raised will support our local Special Olympics here in Virginia.

If your fourth or fifth grade student is interested in leadership, they may want to run for SCA office! Watch this space for information about this important Cherry Run job. Offices include President (rising 6th grader), Vice President (rising 5th grader), Secretary (rising 5th grader), Treasurer (rising 5th or 6th grader), or Historian (rising 6th grader). Officers help plan and run the monthly SCA meetings as well as learn about being a good leader.
