A survey revealed gaps in enrollees' understanding about health insurance, especially regarding prescription copays and out-of-pocket limits. This week kicked my tail. Two huge, back-to-back projects pushed my writing and creative muscles to their max, leaving me exhausted at the end of each day. It felt good, though. Productivity is satisfying.
But being productive calls for energy, mentally and physically. Being “on” all day is grueling -- meetings, collaborating, brainstorming, thinking on your feet.
The only way I can do that is by fueling up my own spirit. Reading my bible. Praying throughout the day. Thinking about what I’ve read -- meditating on it -- and letting it course through my head and heart.
This week’s Friday Fave is a book I’ve been reading about biblical meditation. It’s been fascinating. The book takes a deep dive into the practices of the Puritans, detailing why meditation is important and how to do it. I’ve really enjoyed the practical and spiritual gains from it.
Our work is hard. We have to feed our spirits daily. It’s as important -- if not more! -- as exercise and good nutrition.
