TOP OF THE AGENDA | Trump says 'we’re looking at better than a ceasefire' as he leaves G7 early |

Credit: Getty Images | US President Donald Trump has left the G7 summit in Canada early, with the White House confirming he has "important matters" to attend to back in Washington. Speaking on board Air Force One, Trump said he's not looking for a ceasefire, but "we’re looking at better than a ceasefire". He also reiterated that "Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon". Before his departure, Trump and his fellow G7 leaders issued a statement which urged de-escalation but stopped short of calling for a ceasefire, and named Iran as the principal source of instability and terror in the Middle East. The conflict is now in its fifth day, with Israel and Iran continuing to launch attacks on each other. |

| BEYOND THE HEADLINES | What North Korea's warship failure tells us about the secretive regime |
| | | Experts say Kim Jong Un used the botched warship launch to strengthen people's loyalty to the regime and its ideology. Credit: KCNA via Reuters | When North Korea's new warship capsized during its launch last month, it made international headlines. But why such interest, given that there were no casualties and the damage to the hull appeared relatively minor? The intrigue has less to do with the failure itself and more with how Kim Jong Un reacted and what this teaches us about his regime, writes our Seoul correspondent. |
