Meta, Oakley prep to flex smart shades for athletes

Meta and Oakley are set to announce a collaboration on smart glasses June 20, according to a teaser from the Instagram account @oakleymeta. The glasses, likely based on Oakley's Sphaera model, are expected to feature a center camera and target athletes, potentially competing with GoPro products.

Signify has launched the Philips Hue AI assistant and the Play Wall Washer light. The AI assistant, which is expected to roll out globally by August, allows users to create and select lighting scenes with voice commands. The Play Wall Washer, available in the US and UK, features a gradient light effect and can sync with media.

BMW to launch hydrogen-powered SUV in 2028

BMW is planning to launch a hydrogen-powered SUV in 2028, possibly built on the next-generation X5 platform. Toyota supplies fuel cell systems for the X5 and the two will continue to work together on the 2028 model. BMW's move into hydrogen fuel cell technology represents BMW's first major step into mass production of hydrogen passenger vehicles.

Amazon has announced that its next Prime Day event will extend to four days beginning July 8, and will offer exclusive deals for Prime members. The event will include a new Today's Big Deals feature to highlight the biggest discounts across various categories. Early deals will include significant discounts on Amazon's own devices like Echo speakers and Fire TV products, and there will be special offers available for younger subscribers.
