Dear Robinson Community,
We’re excited to share that FCPS is partnering with the Washington Commanders to explore the addition of Girls Flag Football to high school athletic offerings, with the potential to launch as early as the Fall 2025 season.
While we are still waiting on additional information from the county regarding the official start date, Robinson is already preparing for this exciting opportunity—and we’re proud to announce that Rachel Worsham has been named our Head Girls Flag Football Coach.
Coach Worsham brings an exceptional background and deep commitment to the game. For the past two seasons, she has served as an Assistant Varsity Football Coach right here at Robinson, and she has been coaching football in Fairfax County for over a decade at both the high school and youth levels.
A passionate advocate for women in football, Coach Worsham played Offensive Line for 12 seasons with the D.C. Divas of the Women’s Football Alliance, helping lead the team to national championships in 2015 and 2016. She also represented our country as a member of the gold-medal winning 2017 U.S. Women’s National Team.
Her experience at the highest levels of the sport includes a scouting internship with the New York Jets in 2017. She has served on the Board of USA Football, is a current member of the Girls Football Advisory Council, chairs the Judicial Committee, and serves on the Ethics Committee—all in support of preparing for Flag Football’s debut in the 2028 LA Olympics.
Outside of athletics, Coach Worsham works as a Litigation Specialist for the Virginia Department of Transportation, focusing on high-occupancy and tolling statutes. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Business from Michigan State University, where she also studied abroad in Germany, India, and the United Arab Emirates.
We are thrilled to welcome Coach Worsham into this new leadership role and can’t wait to see the impact of Girls Flag Football here at Robinson.

In order to participate, students must have an updated VHSL physical on file and be registered through the Athletics Registration portal, which will be available starting June 23, 2025.
