Arlington Man Charged in Exposure Series; Additional Victims Sought

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is investigating a suspect charged in an indecent exposure series investigation and is seeking possible additional victims.

At approximately 2:40 p.m. on May 31, police were dispatched to the report of an exposure. Upon arrival, it was determined the female victim was walking in the area of Clarendon Boulevard and Washington Boulevard when she observed the male suspect allegedly expose himself before fleeing the scene. Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results.

At approximately 4:46 p.m. the same day, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. It was determined another female victim was walking in the area of N. George Mason Drive and Washington Boulevard with two children when they observed the male suspect expose himself before he touched the victim inappropriately and fled the scene. Responding officers canvassed the area and located the suspect in the area of 18th Street N. and Washington Boulevard and took him into custody.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect matched the description of the suspect from the prior incident on May 31 and was charged for both incidents. Ivan Fontana, 37, of Arlington, Va. was arrested and charged with Indecent Exposure (x2), Sexual Battery and Indecent Liberties with a Child.

On June 4, police received a late report for an additional exposure that occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. on May 31 in the 1000 block of N. Quincy Street in which the suspect exposed himself to a third female victim. A third charge for Indecent Exposure was obtained for the suspect.
