Celebrating Juneteeth at Met Park
Juneteenth commemorates arrival of Federal troops to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863, ending enslavement in the United States, in Galveston, TX, the furthest west and south the illegal practice still extended.

Fostering connection and finding community is important for all of us, but especially for older and differently abled folks, who are often forgotten. #Loneliness AwarenessWeek was Jun. 8-15, but the need exists everywhere, all the time. Speaking a kind word to a stranger, inviting someone over for dinner, or reaching out to the friend you've been meaning to talk to but just haven't; we could all use a connection. |

June 29: MetroBus Route Names, Changes Coming
Changes are coming to Metrobus names and routes on June 29. Some routes and schedules will change with Metro’s Better Bus initiative. New routes, maps, and schedules are available on WMATA’s website.
