U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services

The nation's international trade deficit in goods and services increased to $71.5 billion in May from $60.3 billion in April (revised), as exports decreased more than imports.


May 2025: 18.7° % Change
April 2025 (r): -56.4° % Change

(°) International trade statistics are compiled from documents collected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and not a probability-based sample.  Therefore, measures of statistical significance or sampling error do not apply.

(r) Revised.

Estimates are adjusted for seasonal variation.
