The reporting party stated that they received a call from a person claiming to be from Bank of America stating that their account has been compromised. Investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Johanna Gutierrez-Cossio, 24, of Centreville was arrested and transported to Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where she was charged with Driving Under the Influence. (2025-13801) Fraud Safeway, 10350 Willard Way September 12, 2025 • 3:31 p.m. Officers responded for a fraud report. The reporting party stated they got a message on their phone stating their bank account was compromised and that they needed to purchase gift cards to correct the issue. A citizen nearby alerted the reporting party of the scam and the phone conversation ended. The Patrol Operations Division is investigating.
