Community Meeting about AAP @ POE MS

FCPS is proposing to open a new Full-Time Advanced Academic Program Center at Poe Middle School in the Annandale Pyramid. If approved by the School Board, the proposal will allow students whose base middle school is either Poe or Holmes Middle School to remain in the Annandale Pyramid for Full-Time AAP.

Two meetings will be held for interested families to learn more about the proposal, understand potential impacts, and provide feedback:

  • Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.

Both meetings will be held at Poe Middle School in the Library.

Registration is available but not required, and it will greatly assist us with planning. To help us better accommodate individual needs, please RSVP using this form and indicate if you plan to attend in-person or virtually and whether you require interpretation services.

Not sure which middle school your student is assigned to? Please use the FCPS Boundary Locator to find out.

Picture Day

Get ready to smile! School picture day is coming up for your child.

This year, pictures will be taken during your student's PE block on either November 5th or 6th. A makeup day is scheduled for November 21st.

More details and order forms will be sent home soon!

We had our first cross country practice on Tuesday, September 30th, and we’re excited for another great season ahead!

If your student is interested in joining the team, please note that they must have a completed physical on file before they can participate in any practices. Additionally, in order to be eligible to compete in meets, students must attend a minimum of four practices.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Tucker at RATucker@fcps.edu.

We look forward to a fun and successful season!
