As we approach the end of the first quarter, we encourage you to check in with your student to ensure they are staying on top of their assignments. Please remind them to reach out to their teachers for any support or opportunities to improve their grades. We’re proud of the hard work our students have put in so far and are committed to partnering with you to help them reach their full potential.
We also want to address a concern that has come to our attention. Recently, there has been an increase in the use of harmful, disrespectful, and racist language among students. We want to be absolutely clear: this behavior is not tolerated at Mountain View High School or anywhere within FCPS. Every member of our school community—students, staff, and visitors—deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected. This behavior does not reflect the values we uphold as a school. Mountain View High School is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment grounded in our core principles of Family, Love, and Respect. We ask that you speak with your child at home and reinforce the importance of treating others with dignity and kindness.
Thank you for your continued support in building a strong, respectful school community.
Best,
Erin L. Whatley
