Lynbrook

Principal's Message:

Dear Lynbrook Families,

It has been an exciting start to fall at Lynbrook, and we continue to be proud of the strong partnership we share with our families. Your support at home and commitment to sending students to school each day makes a world of difference.

Attendance Update

Our current attendance rate is 8.8 percent, and our goal is to stay below 10 percent for the school year. We are doing a great job so far. Thank you for making attendance a priority. Every day matters, and we are grateful for your efforts to send your children to school consistently. Lynbrook continues to be a safe and welcoming place where every student belongs, and we are here to partner with you in their success.

Student Devices at Home

As homework begins to include more digital components, please help us ensure that school laptops are being used safely and responsibly. These devices are for academic purposes only and should be used to support learning. Your help in monitoring their use at home is greatly appreciated.

Important Dates
  • Monday, September 29 is a student holiday. There will be no school for students.
  • Tuesday, September 30 our sixth graders will visit George Mason University for a special field trip. This experience gives our students a glimpse into college life and helps them see themselves as future scholars.
  • Wednesday, October 1 is our next Early Release Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who has already communicated a dismissal plan. If you need to make any changes, please contact the main office no later than 10:30 AM on Wednesday.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and support. Together we are building a strong foundation for every student’s learning and growth.

Each weekly report also includes a link to register for the Lightspeed Parent Portal, which provides more detailed browsing information. This portal also gives you the ability to pause internet access on your child’s FCPS laptop during non-school hours, such as dinner or bedtime.
