Dear TLES Families,
Lindsay Duch has been named Assistant Principal of Timber Lane Elementary School. Lindsay joins the Timber Lane learning community with a strong commitment to increasing student learning outcomes and empowering a collaborative culture. Lindsay has experience as a literacy coach, a classroom teacher, and most recently as a resource teacher in the Office of School Support.
As an OSS resource teacher, Lindsay led learning labs and coaching cycles to increase novice teacher instructional efficacy and to close achievement gaps in literacy. Lindsay believes impact starts with meeting all learners where they are and building on strengths to address opportunities for growth.
As a literacy coach at Glen Forest Elementary School and Braddock Elementary School she engaged teachers and teams in data-informed collaboration. She implemented a host classroom model to refine and reflect on high-leverage teaching practices, resulting in literacy gains for multilingual learners. Lindsay’s an advocate for building inclusive learning spaces where all students thrive.
Before coming to FCPS, Lindsay worked as a literacy consultant at The University of Chicago Urban Education Institute. During this time, she supported the implementation of school improvement action plans. Lindsay’s commitment to culturally and linguistically responsive instruction began as a classroom teacher in Chicago Public Schools, and at The JFK International School in Queretaro, Mexico. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Elementary Education from The Colorado College and a Master of Science degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her school administration endorsement through ACC, Fairfax partnership with the University of Virginia.
Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband Matt and their two children, Max and Eliza. On the weekends, she is often found on the sidelines supporting Max’s passion for all things competitive- Go Madlax! and shuttling Eliza to and from play dates and the swimming pool. She and her husband are both avid runners and enjoy hosting BBQs with family and friends.
Lindsay is thrilled to join the Timber Lane Tigers inclusive learning community of empowered lifelong learners and critical thinkers.
Sincerely,
Benjamin Chiet
Principal
