Urban Forest Master Plan Draft is Live
The comment period on the draft will be open through October 29, 2025. It will include our fourth community meeting, scheduled for Thursday, October 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. online via Zoom and at the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center (3740 Blenheim Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030).
After public feedback is reviewed by the project team, the Urban Forest Master Plan will be presented to the City Council at a work session scheduled for December 2, 2025, with a public hearing to follow on January 27, 2026.
Last Community Meeting on Thursday, Oct. 23
Our final community meeting, focused on public review of the draft plan, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 23.
There will be an in-person option at the Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center (3740 Blenheim Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030) and a virtual Zoom (register to get the link here) for remote attendees. We hope to see you there.

6-6:30 p.m.: Open house to browse displays summarizing project work / Zoom room opens
6:30-7:30 p.m.: Presentation on the draft Urban Forest Master Plan, followed by a Q&A and comment session
7:30 - 8 p.m.: Continuation of open house

Find us at the Fall Festival!
The project team will be tabling at the 49th Annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow, October 11. Stop by the city tent on Sager Avenue (spaces 344-349) to view a copy of the draft Urban Master Plan, share feedback, and chat with urban forestry staff.
