Beginning October 31, 2025, the end of the first quarter of the 2025-26 school year, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) will begin using letter codes instead of number codes to report progress on your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

This update aligns FCPS with the Virginia Department of Education’s (VDOE) statewide system, ensuring that families across the state see the same format for reporting progress.

This change does not affect your child’s services, supports, or instruction. It only changes how progress is reported.

Your family will receive a mailing early next week with details related to the change to letter codes. Our school remains committed to providing your child high quality, researched based instruction. We will have our first Spirit Week of the the year October 27-31 to celebrate the end of a fabulous first quarter.

Monday, October 27:Sports Day- Wear your favorite sports gear!

Tuesday, October 28: Pajama Day- Dress is your coziest PJs!

Wednesday, October 29: Wacky Wednesday- Wear a wacky outfit!

Thursday, October 30: Twin Day- Pick someone to twin with or dress in black pants and a flannel!

Friday, October 31: Costume Day- Dress like your favorite character!

No School Monday, October 20: Diwali
