If you do not already have a SIS ParentVUE account, sign up now to monitor and support your child’s academic success! Through SIS ParentVUE, you are able to view your student’s attendance, grades, and assignments at any time. You can also access special reports for your student like progress reports and assessment score reports.

Once you have activated a SIS ParentVUE account for an FCPS student, you will keep the same account until the student graduates. Information about students in the same family can be accessed through the same SIS ParentVUE account. Access SIS ParentVUE by using an app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

Specialist Spotlight - Physical Education

Physical Education (P.E.) Classes

We are currently in our throwing and catching unit in Physical Education. Our younger mustangs are having fun participating in a variety of activities to improve their skills. They have been working on throwing and catching to self as well as partners. They are also working on throwing and rolling objects to targets. Our older mustangs have been working hard to improve their throwing and catching skills in order to be prepared to play team handball at the end of our unit. They have been practicing overhand throwing and catching with a partner at various distances and throwing and catching while under pressure in keep away type group games.

After our throwing and catching unit, we will begin our gymnastics unit. During the gymnastics unit, students will be working to develop skills such as rolling, balancing, tumbling, and jumping and landing. Thanks in part to our partnership with K12 Athletics Foundation, we have a large amount of gymnastics equipment for our students to use to help improve their skills including springboards, vaulting blocks, tumbling mats, pit mats, and balance beams. If you’re interested in supporting this great local organization, please reach out to us.

Gymnastics Club

Starting mid-November, we will be sponsoring a morning gymnastics club for students in 4th & 5th grade and for students in the morning SACC program. Students interested in participating can get a permission form from Mrs. Domingo during P.E. classes next month.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

FCPS Buildings Benefit All Community Members

In addition to our students and teachers, we estimate millions of visits by students and community members to Fairfax County schools through more than 500,000 events. Most of the public meeting and recreational facilities available in the county are FCPS facilities.

FCPS works with the Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services and with the Fairfax County Park Authority to ensure that school facilities and athletic fields are available to the public after school hours.

The 2025 Bond Referendum will be on the ballot in November. Vote on Tuesday, November 4. Learn more about registering to vote and make a voting plan.

October Community Boundary Review Meetings

Families Opted in to Lightspeed Student Online Activity Report

FCPS provides families with a free service that allows parents and caregivers a way to stay informed about their child's online activity on any FCPS device. Starting Sunday, October 12, all parents and guardians who have access to student records in SIS ParentVUE will be automatically enrolled to receive a weekly Lightspeed Student Online Activity Report.

This report provides a summary of the websites your child visited during the previous week and is delivered every Sunday to your email directly from Lightspeed, our internet content filter.

Each weekly report also includes a link to register for the Lightspeed Parent Portal, which provides more detailed browsing information. This portal also gives you the ability to pause internet access on your child’s FCPS laptop during non-school hours, such as dinner or bedtime.

Visit the Lightspeed Parent Report page for more information and answers to frequently asked questions.

Bond Referendum - November 4

Are you loving the recent renovation of our school building?

We are, thanks to voters like you!

These beautiful updates were NOT funded through the annual FCPS operating budget. School building construction and renovations are funded by bonds, which are approved by voters!

On November 4, a new bond will be on your Election Day ballot. Learn more about how school bonds impact our community at fcps.edu/bond.

What Will the 2025 Bond Referendum on the November Ballot Fund?

The $460M bond referendum on the November ballot is expected to fund the next stages of several ongoing projects, as well as others referenced in the Capital Improvement Program (CIP)

The building and renovation of our schools is not funded through the division’s operating budget. Voter-approved bonds allow payment for these projects over time. Read more about the 2025 Bond Referendum. Learn more about registering to vote. Make a plan to vote by Tuesday, November 4.
