Dear Bailey’s Families,
It’s really starting to feel like fall at Bailey’s! We’ve had some chilly mornings and are beginning to see the leaves change color. Our kindergarten classes had a wonderful field trip to Shlagel Farms this past week to make connections to their learning about pumpkins in their first unit on how plants and animals have needs and grow and change. Our second graders also hosted a Museum Night for their families to see arts integration in action — way to go, second grade!
Looking ahead, there is no school on Monday, October 20, in observance of Diwali. Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 21. Please also mark your calendars for some exciting upcoming community events — our annual Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 30, and our Family Literacy Night on Thursday, November 13. More details about these events can be found below in this newsletter.
Lastly, it’s that time of year to recognize the amazing work happening at Bailey’s! If you would like to nominate your child’s teacher, school leader, or another Bailey’s staff member for an Outstanding Employee Award, nominations are open through November 14. More details about these awards can be found below in this newsletter.
We hope you and your family have a wonderful long weekend!
Warmly,
Satonya Dews, Principal
Tracey Brown Rice, Assistant Principal
Keith Downing, Assistant Principal
Christie Fuller, Assistant Principal
