Good news! If you have Medicare and take insulin, you may pay $35 per month for each covered insulin drug you take.

SNAP Updates, and APS offers Community Meals
The USDA authorized states to issue Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for this month. Following new federal guidance, the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) expects to issue 65% of a typical month’s SNAP benefits to eligible households by Thur., Nov. 13.
Virginia Emergency Nutrition Assistance (VENA) Any VENA funds already on EBT cards will remain available for up to 90 days. VENA was designed for urgent food needs. If unused after 90 days, remaining VENA funds will be removed from cards. Learn more about VENA.
Food Assistance and Community Support Arlington County approved emergency funds for the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) to expand its food distribution capacity to help meet increased community need. For food assistance now, call: 703-228-1300 or go to: Food Assistance & Free Food Resources, Path Forward, and Shutdown Resources
In addition, Arlington Public Schools (APS) offers free evening Meals for Families at:

Yorktown, Washington-Liberty or Wakefield High Schools from 5:30–7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Foster parents are needed of all races, ethnicities, religions, cultures, and sexual orientations, with or without biological children. The goal of foster care is to make children safer and families stronger. To foster, you must:
- Be 21 year old or more; Married or single
- Work inside or outside the home
- Live in Arlington County/surrounding Virginia area
- Rent or own your residence.

The Annual MLK Day of Service honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by connecting individuals of all ages across Arlington and Northern Virginia in meaningful service. Volunteer Arlington will host a variety of service projects with an opening program at Washington-Liberty High School (W-L). Plan to attend.
