Quebec language commissioner Benoît Dubreuil warns that the growing separation between immigrants and French-speaking Quebecers, particularly in Montreal, is weakening social cohesion and attachment to French-language culture.
He recommends creating a “mandatory integration pathway, which would notably be required at the time of selecting candidates for economic immigration.”
