Penguin Random House parent company Bertelsmann has named Thomas Coesfeld—the 35-year-old scion whose family controls the German conglomerate—to succeed Thomas Rabe as CEO at the end of 2026. Webcomics giant Webtoon saw its stock price fall after the company posted more than $11 million in Q3 losses despite an 8.7% increase in sales. Oxford University Press is looking to lay off more than 100 of its U.K.-based employees. The Hollywood Reporter makes the case that European comics could be the next great source of big-screen IP.
