The Not-So-Secret Life of a Mormon Bachelorette |
We’re not in Utah anymore. Taylor Frankie Paul is no stranger to the camera. She started out sharing near-daily snippets of her life as a member of Utah’s #MomTok community, but after a “soft swinging” scandal pushed her squarely into the limelight, she found herself leading Hulu’s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. As a person famous for blowing up her life and making a reality television show that dealt with said explosion, Paul presents as an unlikely choice to lead The Bachelorette, ABC’s increasingly staid reality-dating series. But viewers have fallen in love with Paul’s authentically messy self and want her thorns and all. Even if they didn’t, Paul wouldn’t care: “I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and I share it—take it or leave it.” Savannah Walsh talks to Paul about infiltrating the world of reality television and her upcoming stint as the Bachelorette.
Elsewhere in HWD, Samantha Bergeson talks to Sofia Coppola about wanting to work with Kirsten Dunst again; Peggy Siegal laments to Maureen O’Connor about being shut out of the Oscar season circuit and the film world; Chiara Pizzimenti walks us through Pope Leo XIV’s favorite films; and Chris Feil has the best movies to watch on Netflix this month. |
