A Message from the PTA President
Dear Hunt Valley Families,
Our direct donation campaign for the school mural project closed out last week. Between the “Donuts at Drop Off” kick off and donations from parents, guardians, and community members, we were able to raise an impressive $1692.50! Our PTA Executive Board truly understand what a difficult time this is financially for so many in our Hunt Valley community, and we absolutely did not intend for our mural timeline, which was in motion since early September, to overlap with a government shutdown. For the time being, the PTA and its volunteers will continue to brainstorm and work behind the scenes to further fundraise for this project, but rest assured our budget will not be impacted in terms of events, assemblies, field trips, funding for teacher supplies and clubs, the music department, the library, etc, etc. Thank you, again, to those who provided a donation. And thanks again to last year’s PTA Executive Board who left us a healthy budget to be able to continue funding projects without delay.
The PTA has several upcoming volunteer needs, if you are able to donate some time. Our volunteer hours are ESSENTIAL to the planning and execution of events which will create fun and memories for our students. As you’ll see below, in this email, we are in need of volunteers for Pyramid Challenge, the Thanksgiving Luncheon and Family Game Night. If you can provide a small gift of time, it truly goes a long way toward the success of our school events.
If you need anything, please reach out to President@huntvalleypta.org or info@huntvalleypta.org.
Sincerely,
Kacie Jones
Hunt Valley PTA President
Family Game Night
Please consider supporting the PTA game night in any or all of the following ways!
- Time to clean out your board game stash? Anything collecting dust in the back of a closet? Consider donating your lightly used board games for use at the event! (Please only send in donations with all pieces/parts included.) The games will be passed along for donation when the event is over.
-
Volunteer an hour. After (or before) you play games with your family, please consider a small donation of time to help us run the event smoothly for all. As this event is not a drop off event, we would ask that you have another adult in your group who will be present with your students while you volunteer.
- Attend and enjoy!
Don’t forget to RSVP, using the QR code or links below. This allows us to best plan with our vendors and volunteers.

School-Led Food Pantry
Pyramid Challenge this Saturday
An update from our Wellness Chair:
Hi Hunt Valley! If you plan to be at the Pyramid Challenge this Saturday, November 15th, please see important information below!
Each year, the Pyramid Challenge partners with a local charity. This year, ECHO will be on-site for a coat, toy and food drive. Please consider bringing an item(s) from the list below if you are able to!
Also, we are still in need of more adult volunteers for the following roles:
- Adult finish line assistants to determine the top finishers
- Adult parking guides - this is not as scary as it sounds! It literally means standing in front of coned off areas to ensure that nobody drives through the cones.
- Field guides - these are the people who will let runners know which heat is lining up and direct them to the start line.
Remember, if you have a child(ren) participating, you can definitely take a break to watch them run!

Student Council Association Initiatives
Help us support the SCA’s service project, a Toy Donation Drive! Check out their informational flyer, including the QR code for ECHO’s Amazon Wishlist.
Another way we can support the SCA is through the Box Tops for Education program! Gone are the days of cutting “Box Tops” from cereal boxes. Download the Box Tops app, choose Hunt Valley as your school to support and scan your paper receipts or upload digital ones!

They are also holding a Spirit Day on Friday, November 21st. Wear your favorite sports Jersey!
Thanksgiving Luncheon
The school is asking for additional volunteers to help out with their Thanksgiving Luncheon on Tuesday, November 18. The wonderful amount of parent/guardian participation will put a larger strain on the cafeteria and staff. Please consider sharing your time to help the event run more smoothly. If you’re attending during your student’s lunch period, please consider coming early or staying after to help with another group’s meal.
