On September 26, 2025, the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) submitted a request to extend the HealthChoice section 1115 demonstration for five years. The application proposes to continue to manage and operate existing demonstration programs and services. MDH proposes one modification to the Increased Community Services (ICS) program to modify the eligibility criteria to shorten the length of stay required in a nursing home prior to enrollment in ICS. The federal comment period will be open from November 14, 2025 through December 14, 2025.
