Our Last Game

Our family loves hockey... and we are huge fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs. We have watched them on television since I was a little kid. But the most exciting part of hockey for my family was travelling from our home in the country to Toronto to watch them play live at Maple Leaf Gardens!
My mom’s dad died when she was a teenager. My grandpa had season tickets to the Gardens. The tickets were given to my grandma and eventually they were passed on to my mom. Four seats. First Row Green, centre ice. Perfect. My dad, mom, twin sister and I used to go to the Gardens and cheer ourselves hoarse. We would drive from our home in Georgetown into the big city and excitement would build as we travelled along Highway 401. We would guess the score and see who would be the closest, as the anticipation built up for the game.
