Business jet market grows in Q3 with higher backlogs
The business jet market showed significant improvement in the third quarter, with OEM backlogs rising 12.1% to $51.1 billion, business jet departures increasing 5.1% year over year and pre-owned transaction volume up 16.3%, according to Global Jet Capital. Aircraft inventory for sale stabilized, with availability slightly decreasing to 7.6% of the fleet. "These trends underscored the market's stability and set the stage for continued momentum throughout the remainder of the year," Global Jet Capital says.

Ky. airport gets $1M fueling system upgrade
Gallatin County Airport in Sparta, Ky., has upgraded its fueling system with a $1 million investment from the state. The project, which started in May and finished in October, is expected to increase aircraft traffic and boost the local economy. Additional improvements, including new hangars and a terminal building, are underway.

Where2Fly2 app helps pilots find public airports
Pilot Michael Ladd has developed Where2Fly2, an iOS app that helps aviators find public-use airports based on criteria such as distance, runway length and surface type. The app, priced at a one-time fee of $3.99 after a 10-day free trial, was created after Ladd noticed the discontinuation of a similar app, IFlyWhere.

GE to build $50M Dubai GE9X maintenance facility
GE Aerospace has announced plans to open a new maintenance facility in Dubai South by 2027 to support GE9X engines, highlighting the engine's dust-resistance ahead of the Boeing 777X's entry into service. The reported cost of the facility is $50 million.
