BlueScope held its AGM this week and the ABC Illawarra team was there. Shareholders and executives observed a minute of silence, following a fatal accident at the Port Kembla steelworks a day earlier. Also this week, the NSW government has told British billionaire Sanjeev Gupta it won't lift the legal hold on Tahmoor Coal until almost $30 million in unpaid royalties is settled. The ABC Illawarra team was also up in the Highlands this week, to watch an emotional Land and Environment Court hearing at RePoly's proposed Moss Vale plastics recycling plant site. We have all those stories below.
Last weekend, I also attended the opening of the Sculpture in the Valley festival in Kangaroo Valley. It was a marvellous day and the sculptures are just remarkable. The organisers have done an outstanding job, with more than 170 artworks by nearly 100 artists on display. It's on again this weekend if you are looking for something to do. I took the photo above, which shows festival director Stuart McCreery with journalist Richard Morecroft, who was helping open the festival.
Have a great week, and remember, if you have a story idea drop an email to 973@your.abc.net.au.
