We have a somewhat mild Sunday following our recent frigid weather. We're also tracking an unsettled pattern this week that could bring multiple opportunities for snow to England. Other news we're following this morning is which teams will play in Boston in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. I'm Kaitlin McKinley Becker, and these are our top headlines.

Which teams will play in Boston in the 2026 FIFA World Cup? Here's the full list

We now know which teams will be coming to Greater Boston to play in 2026 FIFA World Cup matches at Gillette Stadium. And there are some major names on the list.

Following the draw held Friday in Washington D.C., we already knew which groups had been assigned to Foxboro in a schedule that includes five group-stage matches, a round of 32 clash, and a historic quarterfinal.

The specific teams that will come to Boston, as well as the dates and times of the matches, were announced during a live FIFA broadcast on Saturday.

Multiple chances for snow in New England this week thanks to unsettled pattern

Multiple systems diving at New England this coming week bring an unsettled pattern and temperature swings.

After some blustery mornings last week, this weekend feels mild. But this slight warm up is still below seasonal average temperatures. Normal highs are around 45 degrees. Today will be in the mid to upper 30s.

A cold front passing over between Sunday and Monday making for a frigid afternoon Monday and lows in the single digits to low teens Tuesday morning.

Babson student deported during Thanksgiving trip could've fought removal as a kid, U.S. says

A Massachusetts college student who was deported while trying to visit family for Thanksgiving missed multiple opportunities to fight a removal order issued when she was a young child, according to a government attorney.

Any Lucia Lopez Belloza, a 19-year-old freshman at Babson College, was flown to Honduras two days after being detained at Boston’s airport on Nov. 20, despite a court order on Nov. 21 that she remain in Massachusetts.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Sauter filed a response Wednesday in the case, saying the Boston judge who issued the order lacked jurisdiction because by then, Lopez Belloza was already in Texas on her way out of the country.

Suspect shot and killed by police after pursuit in Manchester, NH

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit are investigating a report of a deadly police shooting that occurred Saturday morning in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The incident reportedly occurred after police responded to the area of South Mammoth Road in Manchester for a report of a suspicious vehicle. A pursuit ensued which ended with a motor vehicle crash and a man fleeing the scene.

A foot pursuit followed and in a subsequent encounter with police in the area of 293 South Mammoth Road, the suspect was shot. Life-saving measures were attempted and the man was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

Celtics-Lakers recap: Brown, Walsh lead C's to fourth straight win

BOSTON — The Celtics and Lakers have played many classic games in their historic rivalry. Friday’s matchup at TD Garden was not one of them.

The Celtics built a huge lead early and never looked back, cruising to a 126-105 victory to extend their win streak to a season-high four games. 

The Lakers were without their two best players — Luka Doncic and LeBron James — as well as Marcus Smart. The Celtics’ red-hot shooting was just too much for a shorthanded Lakers team to overcome.

Firefighters rescue dog after fall through ice in Andover

A dog was rescued Friday morning after falling through the ice in Andover, Massachusetts, fire officials said.

Andover Fire Rescue said firefighters responded to Holt Road, finding the dog in the cold water of a pond.

Crews in water rescue suits went into the water and used a rapid deployment craft to get the animal back to shore.
