Key Takeaways

What are the immediate benefits we can expect from reactivating our glutes?

You can expect significantly improved posture and mobility, along with relief from common discomforts like lower back and knee pain. By getting your glutes to fire correctly, you redistribute the workload away from compensating muscles, creating more balance and stability in your daily movements.

Is the course accessible for all fitness levels?

Absolutely! The wonderful thing about this course is that it’s designed to meet you exactly where you are on your fitness journey. Since it's built on simple, functional movements, you can easily adjust the intensity. Plus, the program has a focus on active recovery along with movement. This crucial balance ensures your muscles have plenty of time to rest, repair, and grow stronger, which is the best way to progress safely and prevent injury.

Emily’s Interview With Tristan Gatto

Does your daily routine involve sitting for long stretches of time? If so, you might be experiencing "gluteal amnesia," a common modern condition where your glutes become weak and actually "forget" how to fire correctly. This lack of activation can lead to a domino effect of physical issues, from nagging lower back pain to stiff hips and knees. Let’s discover how we can wake up these vital muscles to improve our posture, mobility, and overall balance.

Tristan, what was the aha moment that made you want to build an entire course just for the glutes?

Tristan: It really came down to seeing so many of my clients struggle with back pain, knee issues, or general weakness without realizing the root cause was right behind them. Because we sit so much today, many of us develop "gluteal amnesia," where these muscles — the largest in the body — simply forget how to work.

When they stop firing, the rest of your body has to overcompensate, which leads to a domino effect of physical problems. I created this course because waking those muscles back up is one of the fastest ways to transform your posture, improve your mobility, and get your whole body back into balance.

What are the red flags that our glutes have gone to sleep, and why should we be worried if they stay that way?

Tristan: A big one is feeling your lower back or hamstrings taking over the heavy lifting during moves like squats or lunges—that's a clear signal your glutes are still napping. You might also feel some nagging discomfort in your hips, knees, or back, especially after sitting for a long time. It’s important to address this because your glutes are supposed to be the anchors that stabilize your pelvis and support your spine.

When they check out, your body forces other muscles like your quads and hamstrings to do work they weren't designed for, which eventually leads to poor posture, tight muscles, and even serious injuries like herniated discs. By waking them up, you’re basically giving your back and knees an immediate break and finding a lot more stability in everything you do.

Walk us through how your program is structured. What can we expect to learn and practice?

Tristan: The program is built for consistency without burnout, so we aim for about four sessions a week, done every other day. Each session focuses on waking up and strengthening those glutes using a mix of bodyweight moves and resistance bands. The intensity builds gradually, but I’ve made sure everything can be modified to match your current fitness level.

On the days in between, we focus on active recovery. This is so important because your muscles need time to repair and grow stronger, but staying gently active keeps the blood flowing and helps reduce that typical post-workout soreness. It keeps you flexible and balanced so you don’t get fatigued, which is usually when form breaks down and injuries happen.

Thank you so much, Tristan! It is incredible to see how a few intentional, consistent movements can transform the way our entire bodies feel and function. By building stronger, more responsive glutes, Tristan is helping us create a more balanced foundation for everything we do. I invite you all to join him on this journey to better mobility and long-term strength.

Until next time, be well.
