Celebrating Orbit of Excellence Award Winners!

OEA - December

We were excited to celebrate our December Orbit of Excellence Award winners, recognizing the character trait of integrity. On Tuesday, students were honored with a special pancake breakfast—cooked and served by the administrative team—along with an award presentation. It was a joyful way to kick off 2026, reconnect as a community, and jump back into the rhythm of school. As we move into January, we are excited to focus on our next character trait, responsibility, and continue celebrating the positive choices our students make each day.

Spirit Night with Taste of Asia

Get ready for a delicious way to support RHES! Join us for Spirit Night at Taste of Asia Asian Bistro on Friday, January 16, from 4–8 PM. Enjoy a night off from cooking and savor your favorite dishes—25% of net profits will be donated back to the Rose Hill PTA. Dine in, order takeout, or order online for pickup—it all counts! Just be sure to mention “Rose Hill” when you order. Visit them at 362 S Pickett Street in Alexandria. Grab your family, invite friends, and let’s turn dinner into school spirit!

Pajamas, Partners, and Plenty of Smiles: Stellar Squads at RHES

Stellar Squads

Stellar Squads brought extra joy to RHES on the Friday before Winter Break! Students teamed up with their buddy classrooms—all while rocking their coziest pajamas—for an afternoon full of connection and fun. The halls were filled with songs, creativity, and laughter as students made crafts, built gingerbread houses, and tackled puzzles together. This once-a-month tradition gives our students a chance to build empathy, strengthen our sense of community, and simply enjoy being together. It’s no surprise that Stellar Squads is something everyone looks forward to each month!

Library Love: New Nooks and Helpful Labels!

Library Updates

Mrs. Millett, our school librarian, has been busy making some wonderful updates to the library! Two new comfy chairs have been added to create a cozy reading nook where both students and adults can relax and enjoy a good book. She’s also upgrading the book shelf labeling system with new dividers that are more visible, easier to read, and include pictures to help students quickly find what they’re looking for. A huge thank you to our parent volunteers who come in weekly to help support these improvements and keep our library such a welcoming space for everyone.
