 Dear Wolftrap Families,
We made it through the first week back! Students and staff are having a wonderful time readjusting to routines. I’m so glad the Wolfies are here!!! Our Behavior MTSS Team is excited to launch the new SEL Shout-out initiative! Our goal is to encourage students to recognize positive behavior in one another and create a school-wide culture of celebration. Students will be learning more about this exciting new way to recognize each other. Please check out the bulletin board the next time you are at Wolftrap. It is located over by fifth grade.
As you know, Dr. Reid introduced the boundary recommendations to the board at the January 8th meeting. Keep an eye out for opportunities to connect around that topic. You can see the information on the FCPS website. Upcoming events to note:
- Tuesday, January 13, at 6 p.m.: School Board’s public hearing on the Proposed FY 2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
- Thursday, January 22, at 7 p.m.: The School Board is scheduled to vote on the superintendent's recommendation for boundary changes and implementation during their regular meeting.
On an exciting note, the Madison pyramid schools will be participating in our first DAY OF SERVICE on April 15th. Schools across our pyramid will be participating in projects across our schools in Vienna that support the environment, food insecurity, and supporting our military families. Stay tuned for more information on this great day!

All students in grades 3-6, except those who have opted out, will receive a link to the survey in their FCPS email on February 23. We will administer the survey during the school day between Monday, February 23, and Friday, March 6. Any student may take the survey at home, if they are unable to take the survey during the school day. You will receive a communication with details on how to preview the survey and opt your child out, if you choose. The electronic opt-out form can also be accessed at this link.
We believe it's important to hear from our students about what we're doing well and where we can improve. This work also aligns with the equity commitments in FCPS’ 2023-30 Strategic Plan, which include a focus on amplifying student voice and experiences as we work toward meeting plan goals.
