Message from the President
Hello Fairfax High School Families, Teachers, and Staff,
School week one of the new year is done and we are almost halfway through January! Our second meeting is next Tuesday, January 20th. We are excited to welcome Dr. Dustin Wright, the new City of Fairfax School Board Superintendent.
There are still a lot of things planned for the year. Unfortunately, without your support, we will not be able to support the FHS Community as much as we would like to. We are brainstorming for more ways to fundraise throughout the year but membership and donations are a big part of how we get to where we need to be. If you’ve been meaning to join and/or donate and haven’t, please do! If you are worried joining will commit you to something, it won’t. If you think “others will do it, I don’t have to”, then nobody will. Please JOIN the PTSA today!!!
Before the holiday break, the Hospitality team prepared and dropped off Holiday "Thank You" goodie bags for 300 teachers / staff. Susan, Bonnie, and Sophea provide these small tokens of appreciation for the FHS team members at the end of each quarter. The bags are much appreciated by the staff and are just one way to thank them for all they do for our students. The next end of quarter is coming up in a few weeks and the team are hoping to be able to provide these for the staff but will not be able to without your support. Hospitality Donations.
The Hospitality Team will also be providing breakfast/brunch for the 60 judges, teachers, and volunteers of the upcoming Science Fair on Saturday, January 24. The next ANG planning meeting will be after the PTSA meeting on Jan. 20th at 8pm in the library. As mentioned the senior magnets are available. You can also pre-order the Senior Yard Signs. You can now order both on givebacks. For the magnets, we will reach out to arrange delivery. The yard signs will be delivered later in the school year. Donations are always welcome!!
