Dear Beech Tree Families,
We wanted to update you on the latest developments in the Boundary Review Process.
Given the feedback provided by the community and the concerns raised regarding the process, to include but not limited to the fact that the Explorer Tool failed to reflect the proposed changes and the introduction of the changes were inconsistent to the established Scenario presentation protocols, the Beech Tree proposal for SPA 6002 and 6006 will be paused for further review. This development was discussed at the 1/13/2026 FCPS School Board Work Session last night.
It is Superintendent Reid's plan to engage further with the community in the coming months and review additional data prior to submitting recommendations to the Board in January 2027.
Our Mason District Board Representative, Dr. Ricardy Anderson, plans to see that transportation, VHSL eligibility, and access to programming are included in these discussions.
Other PTA updates:
- P.J. B-I-N-G-O was a huge success. So many of you showed up in your coziest of wears ready to yell out BINGO at just the right moment for a chance to choose 2 from a table full of valuable prizes. It was standing room only. Great work! And a special thanks to our volunteers who made it happen. We couldn’t do it without you. And we wouldn’t want to either!
- As promised, attached is the flyer for next week’s restaurant day at Bawadi. A promise is a promise. And delicious food is delicious food…that benefits our school.

Finally, the school district is always looking for crossing guards (did you know in the U.K. they are called lollipop people??? That is your fun fact of the day.) See the attached flyer for more info. The PTA will get $100 for every successful referral. Who doesn’t want to get paid to see all those smiling faces trying to get to and from school every morning and afternoon?

Pay: Fairfax County School Crossing Guards earn $33.00 per hour

Schedule: Work ½ hour before school and ½ hour after school

Days: School days only (no nights, weekends, or summers)

Impact: A vital role helping students safely arrive at and leave school each day
