New nursery protocol protects cork oak seedlings from major pathogen | Foresters and scientists in Sardinia, Italy, have recently developed a cost-effective protocol to grow oak seedlings free from Phytophthora, one of the most damaging pathogens threatening oak trees in Mediterranean ecosystems. “The aim is to grow stronger and healthier trees, which are more resilient to the impacts of climate change,” says Bruno Scanu. |
