A Message from the PTA President
Dear Hunt Valley Families,
Last night the PTA had a productive and informative meeting. We had a chance to review all of our successes through the late fall and speak to the many upcoming activities for our HV Hawks. Please feel free to check out the slide show and meeting summary notes on our PTA website, https://hvpta.ptboard.com/home, under the Docs and Photos section. It seems that there will be changes on the horizon for our school, between becoming a local full-time AAP location and the upcoming talks over the Fiscal Year 2027 FCPS budget. All are welcome to attend our virtual PTA meetings as another way to continue to be informed about issues that affect Hunt Valley. We ask that non-dues-paying attendees abstain from any votes, but, otherwise, welcome all to participate and ask questions of the PTA and the administration. It’s not too late to join the PTA. For only $15, you can help us reach our membership goals, which in turn help us to fund initiatives for all our students. Click here to sign up for a PTA membership today!

January Book Swap
The Book Swap is coming! Please look through your books at home to find a few your student can donate. Volunteers will sort them out & on Friday 1/23, each student will get to pick a new-to-them book!
Bins for donation are both outside and inside the front doors of school. Bring in your books now through Tuesday 1/20!
Hunt Valley 3rd Annual Scripps Spelling Bee
Register your child for the Scripps National Spelling Bee at Hunt Valley! The 2025-26 Hunt Valley Scripps Spelling Bee is open to Kindergarten through 6th grade students and will be held at Hunt Valley Cafeteria on Friday, February 20, 2025, 6:00–8:00 p.m.

All interested students must register in advance for the Bee and will receive a word study list. The winner will advance to the Fairfax County Spelling Bee.

Box Tops for SCA
Support the SCA through the Box Tops for Education program! Gone are the days of cutting “Box Tops” from cereal boxes. Ice Skate Night
Join us at the Fairfax Ice Arena for Hunt Valley's Skate Night on Saturday, January 24th from 6:45 pm-8:15 pm. Please arrive by 6:15 pm to get tickets and check-in. This is a private event open only to Hunt Valley Elementary students and their families. Discounted rates for skating--adult or child, $5.75 per person and skate rental is $4.00 per person. Fairfax Ice Arena is located at 3779 Pickett Road, Fairfax, VA 22031.
