Principal's Message:

Hello Bull Run Families,

Just when we are getting back into our routines, we are already up against a three-day weekend—I’m sure the kids won’t complain!

It has been wonderful to see our students hard at work, focused, and ready to learn each day. As we near the halfway point of the school year, we remain committed to our Charger STRONG expectations. These expectations continue to guide how we learn, behave, and care for one another.

Please continue to talk with your children about what Charger STRONG looks like and sounds like, and help reinforce the importance of being safe, respectful, having ownership of our actions and words, all while being kind to one another. We truly are a family here at school, and taking care of one another should be at the heart of everything we do.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Enjoy the long weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone back refreshed and ready to learn on Tuesday!

Reminders:

Tomorrow is Bull Run Spirit Day! We encourage every student and staff to wear our school colors (blue & white), or school spirit wear.

Have a wonderful weekend!

-Mr. Marotta

HIGHLIGHTS AND WHAT'S NEW AT BULL RUN!

Coat Drive

Keep Our Community Warm: Winter Clothing Drive!

As the temperatures drop, we want to make sure every child in our community stays cozy and warm. Bull Run Elementary is hosting a Winter Coat & Boys’ Clothes Donation Drive starting now through February 6th.

We are looking for both new and gently used items, including:

Winter Coats

Long Sleeve Shirts

Pants

How to donate: It’s easy! Just bring your donations to school and drop them off in the Lobby Drop-Off Box.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping our kids stay warm all winter long!

Math and Literacy Night

❄️ Bundle Up for Arctic Adventure Night!

Join us for a "cool" evening of learning and fun at our Family Literacy & Math Night! We’re turning the school into an Arctic Adventure to help our students thaw out with some great books and math challenges.

When: Thursday, January 22nd Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Where: Bull Run Elementary School

We have a full night of activities planned across the building:

Literacy in the Library: Dive into Arctic-themed reading activities and earn some fun rewards.

Math in the Gym: Explore math through interactive games that make numbers exciting.

Pizza in the Cafeteria: Hungry? We’ll have pizza for sale for $2 per slice.

*Important Note: This is a family event, not a drop-off program. All students must be accompanied by an adult throughout the evening.

"Polar Plunge" with a cartoon penguin

On January 24, several Bull Run staff members will be taking The Polar Plunge!

This is a fundraiser where half of the proceeds will go to Special Olympics VA, which helps run tournaments for our own Special Olympics team.  The other half will go directly to our school to support more opportunities for inclusion for all.

Our goal is to fund adapted equipment and raise enough money for a large communication board for our playground, which will support those in our community with verbal communication difficulties.

Please consider donating, sharing this post, joining our team, or just coming out to the event and watching us freeze!
