We often hear the phrase "food is medicine." How does nutrition actually work to heal our bodies from the inside out?

Tammy: If you look at everything that affects your body — like sleep, sunlight, and air — nutrition is easily one of the biggest players. Unfortunately, in our busy lives, intentional eating often gets sacrificed for convenience. When we’re always eating on the run, we trigger inflammation, imbalanced blood sugar, and a heavy load on the liver.

When you prioritize high-quality nutrition and proper rest, you’re literally fueling your body’s energy production, immune system, and natural ability to regenerate. When you support your body correctly, the result is that you can truly feel incredible.

There are many diet plans and cleanses out there. What makes your program stand out?

Tammy: That’s a great question. This isn’t a temporary reset or a 30-day sprint to a finish line. Instead, we take a deep, thoughtful look at your long-term habits and focus on adding nutritious foods slowly over time. It’s about building brand-new routines and discovering a "new normal" for how you feel.

Because we aren’t overhauling your entire life in a month, this approach is much gentler. It leaves room for grace and compassion. If you have a hectic week and need to order takeout, that’s perfectly okay. The goal is that by the end of the course, you’ll have the tools and knowledge to bring your body back into balance.

For those ready to dive in, what does the journey through the course actually look like?

Tammy: We move through 10 lessons together, focusing on nutrition education and practical, hands-on homework. You’ll be doing things like journaling, taking photos of your meals, grocery shopping, and experimenting with new recipes. I encourage everyone to take about five to seven days with each new recipe or food to really let it land.

The homework is where the magic happens because it helps you sustain these changes for the long haul. A big part of this is developing "interoception" — the ability to actually sense and understand what’s happening inside your body. By the end, you’ll have an expanded cooking repertoire and a deeper connection to yourself. It’s incredibly empowering to realize you can feed yourself well and discover healing along the way.
