Upcoming Engagement Opportunities for the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services

Greetings,

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is committed to engaging with you to help lower the cost of prescription drugs as part of the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program. In the spring of 2026, public engagement events will be held to hear directly from you. These events help us collect important information on the drugs selected for the upcoming cycle of negotiation and renegotiation.

By February 1, 2026, a list of the selected drugs will be announced. Registration for public engagement events will follow the announcement of the selected drugs. We are offering you an opportunity to participate in two types of virtual public engagement events:

  • Roundtable events are private (i.e., not livestreamed or open to the press or general public), patient-focused events. There will be one roundtable event for each selected drug where patients, caregivers, and representatives of patient advocacy organizations can share their experience.
  • A town hall meeting that will be publicly livestreamed and will focus on the clinical considerations related to the selected drugs, including drug effectiveness, safety, and clinical relevance.

CMS is also asking the public to provide information about these drugs, including personal experience taking the selected drugs or their therapeutic alternatives, by completing the Drug Price Negotiation Information Collection Request (ICR). This ICR is available now to view, and responses are due by March 1, 2026.

Stay tuned for further information regarding the selected drugs and how to get involved with the public engagement events this spring. In the meantime, you can learn more about past public engagement events

Reach out to IRARebateandNegotiation@cms.hhs.gov using the subject line “Public Engagement” with any questions.

Sincerely,

CMS
