Today's Milan Cortina Olympics Headlines

Good Morning from Milan where on this Saturday Team USA has already picked up another gold medal before your first cup of coffee. Chris Lillis and the mixed team aerials getting it done in the mountains, and for Lillis, a New York native, this is back-to-back gold medals after his big win in the 2022 Olympics. All this comes after a thrilling win last night for Team USA men's hockey. The team has a practice today and will be on the ice 8:10 AM EST on Sunday for a gold medal game against Canada. The Closing Ceremony may be tomorrow but there's still PLENTY of action to track. Have a good Saturday! - Eli

Team USA soars to gold in mixed teams aerials

Team USA defended their Olympic gold in mixed team aerials with another win at the Milan Cortina Games.

Freestyle skiers Kaila Kuhn, Connor Curran and Chris Lillis earned a combined top score of 325.35 for the gold medal. Team Switzerland takes the silver with 296.91, while China wins bronze with 279.68.

Kuhn started final two a bit shaky on her back full-full-full attempt, scoring 94.44 points. But Curran sticks a back full-double full-full to earn 113.72 points, catapulting Team USA into the lead.

Nick Goepper gives injury update after harrowing halfpipe crash at Olympics

Nick Goepper managed to escape serious injury – when during the final jump of what could have been a gold medal-winning run – he suffered a terrifying crash.

Goepper, who sat in bronze medal position at the start of his third and final run, prepared to go big. But in the fifth and final attempt of a trick no freeskier has ever landed in competition in the men’s halfpipe, he landed on the lip and the crowd went silent.

Medics rushed to the scene as Goepper clearly injured his back.

A company born in Boston, after a horrific ski accident, may be one of the most successful at the 2026 Olympics that you don’t see.

Victor Wiacek came up with the idea for Vix Protection as he lay severely injured in a hospital bed. A ski had sliced his leg when he fell.

“I almost instantaneously lost about half the blood in my body,” he said. “I was right on death’s door. I was told I shouldn’t have survived.”

U.S. men's hockey team advances to gold-medal game. Here's how to watch

The U.S. men’s hockey team sits one win away from its first gold medal since “The Miracle on Ice.”

Team USA dominated Slovakia in the semifinal matchup Friday, winning 6-2 at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena to advance to the gold-medal game against Canada.

It’s the first appearance in the men’s hockey final for the U.S. since 2010, which the team lost to Canada to take silver in its last appearance on the Olympic podium.
