The Nor’easter heading our way this evening checks multiple boxes: heavy snow with whiteout conditions likely, damaging wind and a coastal flood potential.

A blizzard warning lines the coast with a good chance of reaching blizzard criteria Monday after multiple hours of intense snow and high winds.

Blizzard warnings for Boston, NY, NJ, Conn. as monster storm threatens East Coast

Blizzard warnings were issued Saturday for Boston, Connecticut, New York City, New Jersey and coastal communities along the East Coast as a late-winter storm set to arrive on Sunday threatened to make a mess of the start of a new week.

The National Weather Service increased its assessment of the potential severity of a storm that was projected to be less ferocious only days earlier.

The weather service said 1 to 2 feet of snow was possible in many areas as it issued blizzard warnings for New York City, Long Island, southern Connecticut and coastal communities in New Jersey and Delaware. Flooding was also possible in parts of New York and New Jersey, the weather service said.

Team USA invites Johnny Gaudreau's family to Italy for Olympic tribute

 Johnny Gaudreau was working hard to make the U.S. team heading to the 2026 Winter Olympics. He and brother Matthew watched the event growing up, always with eyes on playing in it.

“It was their dream,” Jane Gaudreau said of her sons.

Johnny and Matthew died on Aug. 29, 2024, when they were struck by an SUV while riding bicycles near their hometown in New Jersey on the eve of their sister Katie’s wedding. Their deaths shocked the hockey community, and they have been honored since by retired numbers, a memorial 5K and more.

‘Madelyn will never be forgotten': Rochester mourning 11-year-old killed in avalanche

The Rochester, Massachusetts, community is mourning the loss of an 11-year-old girl who was killed in an avalanche while vacationing with her family in Utah.

Madelyn Eitas is being remembered as a sweet, sassy and smart girl, who loved playing soccer. Her mother, Becky, says she was always dancing, smiling and being goofy. She also loved sushi and lobster.

Madelyn was skiing with her family at Brighton Ski Resort in the mountains east of Salt Lake City when tragedy hit Thursday afternoon.

Alysa Liu, Ilia Malinin and U.S. figure skaters shine in Olympic exhibition gala

Alysa Liu had the opportunity to cherish skating on the same Olympic ice where she won two gold medals one more time.

Ilia Malinin had the chance to replace some disappointing memories with much better ones.

The two Americans were among more than 40 figure skaters who had competed during the Milan Cortina Games who took part in the traditional exhibition gala Saturday night, which not only serves to wrap up the program but to celebrate their entire sport.
