Eagle View E-Newsletter: February 22, 2026

Principal's Message

Dear Eagle View Families,

It may have been a short week, but it was still full of energy and joyful learning across our classrooms.

We also had a successful Coffee with the Principal this week. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with one another and meet Mr. Whitehouse, our new assistant principal. We are grateful for the time and partnership of those who joined us. Our next Coffee with the Principal will be held on March 18 at 8:30 AM. We hope to see you there.

As we look ahead, please remember that we will have a three-hour early release on Wednesday, February 25. Be sure to let us know as soon as possible if there are any changes to your child’s dismissal plan so we can ensure a smooth and safe transition home for everyone.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to another great week together.

Sincerely,

KJ An

Principal

Attendance Matters! Excused vs. Unexcused Absences Presented by Eagle View Staff!

11

Every day matters at Eagle View. Consistent attendance supports strong learning habits and keeps students connected to their classroom community.

Please take a moment to watch this short video of Eagle View staff explaining excused and unexcused absences. Travel is not considered an excused absence. We encourage families to use student holidays on the FCPS school year calendar when planning trips to avoid disruptions to learning.

Thank you for partnering with us to support strong attendance.

New Visitor Management System

We are excited to announce that our school is now using the new Raptor Visitor Management System (VMS). This upgrade is part of our school’s and FCPS’ ongoing commitment to enhancing school safety and streamlining the process for visitors at our school. The VMS ensures that no visitor is on the sex offender registry.

For most visitors, the user experience will be the same when you check in at the front office.

But now there is also an app, which can make check-ins even faster at school. Visitors who choose to download the RaptorSafe App and create a Raptor Passport can pre-verify their information before they get to school. The app will give you a QR code you can use when you check in at school.

If you have questions or need assistance with the new system, please contact our front office. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our schools safe!

Register Today With Volunteer FCPS

Volunteer FCPS allows individuals to search and register for volunteer opportunities. It helps ensure a safe, consistent, and welcoming environment here at [School]. All volunteers must:

  • Create a profile in Volunteer FCPS.
  • Register for opportunities through Volunteer FCPS.
  • Sign in and out of schools using the visitor kiosk.

At the Volunteer FCPS site, you can complete a volunteer orientation. Visit the Volunteer FCPS Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

We are seeking a Male Muslim Adult Volunteer!

As we prepare for Ramadan, we are working to thoughtfully support our students who observe this important month. In an effort to honor their religious practice while also maintaining a structured school day, we are seeking a male Muslim adult volunteer to lead student prayer time at Eagle View during Ramadan.

There will always be two Eagle View staff members present to supervise and ensure student safety. Having a designated prayer leader will help provide appropriate guidance for students and allow us to organize prayer in a way that minimizes time away from instruction while still respecting this meaningful observance.

If you are interested or know someone who may be willing to serve in this role, please sign  up in this Sign Up Genius link, or please contact Ms. Fahel in the main office. We appreciate your partnership in supporting our students and their faith traditions.

FCPS Cares: Recognize Our Staff Who Go Above and Beyond

1211

Want a quick way to recognize an employee or team? Share an FCPS CARES! Families, colleagues, and students are all invited to submit. The FCPS CARES is automatically sent to the recipient(s) and their supervisor, and is posted on fcps.edu. Additionally, each month one school in our region wins a staff celebration from HR. We encourage our community to show our staff that their hard work is appreciated!
