The other day, a comment rolled into the #victories channel of my private community.

It read:

Well, I just got an opportunity for speaking engagement and leadership training.

Lol.

I can’t fault her for “hating” when I’m right.

I’ve seen that one before.

But results don’t lie.

The average speaking engagement brings in a good $20K these days. And often you get comped swanky hotel rooms and fancy dinners since we’re no longer doing Zoom conferences.

And I checked her social media account.

She’s actually posting less than I recommend. I tell my folks to post daily. She wasn’t even doing that.

At a glance, it looks more like 4-5 times per week.

Imagine if she ramped up.

And in case you’re wondering:

No, she doesn’t have a degree from Harvard.

No, she doesn’t have 10,000 followers. (or even 5,000)

No, she doesn’t have some unspoken “X factor” connections.

She posted.

Consistently.

But…

And this is the important bit…

She's cleverly and quietly building her authority with these posts.

You can’t just flip out a random post every other day and hope you get lucky. Gotta be a strategy. Gotta be positioning yourself.

But when I was reading this victory, I realized something shocking…

I didn’t explicitly teach her this strategy.

She just picked it up from being in my inner circle.

I realized I’d never shared some of the things she was doing. It had all been “buried knowledge” because I picked it up intuitively and then naturally shared it in my feedback.

So.

I had to fix that.

I spent 2 months fleshing out what really makes content stick…
