On 24 March 2026, Australia and the European Union (EU) concluded negotiations for an Australia-EU Free Trade Agreement.

When it enters into force, this agreement will open up new opportunities for Australian tech companies to export goods and services to a market of around 450 million consumers with a GDP of about $30 trillion. The FTA will also offer enhanced access to the EU market for Australian professionals and facilitate research and innovation collaboration through a new Innovation Mobility Pathway.
