Dear Travel Fan, Happily, the travel chaos from last week — with hourslong security lines at some airports — has quieted down, as T.S.A. officers began getting back pay on Monday. But the Department of Homeland Security, of which T.S.A. is a part, has still not been funded, so things could deteriorate again. We’ll be watching. This week, in addition to following the news, our reporters traveled to Disney World to trail a group known as the Plus Size Park Hoppers, and to Jackson Hole, Wyo., to meet an avalanche dog in training named Baggs. Our 36 Hours column headed to Queenstown, New Zealand, an adventure capital where the things you can spend your weekend doing include bungee jumping and jet boating. If you’re planning a trip to Rome, check out our roundup of lower-cost guesthouses. Many of them are former convents, and they continue to offer tranquillity as part of your stay. Traveling by R.V. has become increasingly popular, so we’ve put together this guide for first-time renters. (Do you know the difference between the three R.V. classes — A, B and C?) And we’re also keeping track of airline prices, which have been going up in part because of the rising cost of jet fuel tied to the war with Iran. JetBlue and United have become the first airlines to raise their baggage fees. Finally, with Japan’s cherry blossom season in force, here’s our guide to Tokyo, one of our new series of city guides to major destinations around the world. Wishing you safe and happy travels,
