Kensington Lands Four-Book Romantasy Series
Jackie Dinas and Alexandra Sunshine at Kensington acquired, in a four-book deal, North American rights to the Fallen series by Melissa K. Roehrich from Katie Shea Boutillier at Donald Maass Literary Agency. The series, per the publisher, “is a sweeping enemies-to-lovers romantasy epic that follows a royal heiress and a vengeful warrior forced into uneasy proximity as they embark on a dangerous quest to recover a lost dragon egg—one prophesied to save their dying realm.” The first book is scheduled to publish in fall 2027.
Dutton Snags John Green’s Adult Fiction Debut
The Penguin Random House imprint will release Hollywood, Ending, the author’s first new novel in nearly 10 years, this September. Julie Strauss-Gabel acquired world rights to the title from Jodi Reamer at Writers House.
Harper to Publish New JD Vance Memoir
Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith is slated to publish this June. Jonathan Burnham had acquired North American rights from WME.

Among this week’s offerings are two new works by Souvankham Thammavongsa, including the short story collection Crush and It Was an Ordinary Name, a nonfiction tribute dedicated to the author’s nephew and late brother; Daniel Black’s novel The Arrival, which shines a light on enslaved people and their lives during antebellum America; and Brooke Shaden’s debut duology, centered on two rival vampire hunters and their unlikely romance.
The Latest in Children’s and YA Deals
New projects this week include Prom Anomaly by Gwenyth Reitz, aimed for fans of The Do-Over and See You Yesterday, a speculative YA rom-com in which a prom queen wannabe and a loner outcast must relive their same disastrous prom until they do the improbable—fall in love—and break the time loop; Hafsa A. Jawad’s The Tales of Arcana Fortune, a cozy YA romantasy about a healer who must survive seven fairy trials after unwittingly releasing a demon from a cursed book; and We Won’t Remember Your Name by debut author Zoë Harris, a genre-blending YA novel exploring how the arrival of two new students upends the rigid rules and social hierarchy for the students at Fossbridge School for Timid Girls.
