Good morning, Chicago. When I was a young one, I had dreams of becoming an astronaut and exploring the wonders of space. I would draw the NASA logo in my notebook. So I appreciate the unifying and humbling perspective that the Tribune Editorial Board shares in its piece about Artemis II’s moon mission

Also today, the board applauds a state lawmaker who is sponsoring a measure that would prevent municipalities from imposing a head tax on businesses.

In commentary. I’d like to highlight an excellent op-ed by a retired physician. Dr. Jennifer Obel writes that the HBO drama “The Pitt” dramatizes a painful truth: The health care system functions to the degree that it does because medical care workers overextend themselves. That comes at a significant cost to them — and it puts patients at risk, she writes.

Also in commentary, foreign affairs columnist Daniel DePetris focuses on how America’s NATO allies aren’t bowing to President Donald Trump’s pressures this time around, and Chicago Park District chief Carlos Ramirez-Rosa looks back at his first year in that role. He has good news to report.

And last but not least, we have more thoughtful letters from our readers on the war in Iran.

A piece of advice: During the next cloudless night, look up and behold our starry firmament and consider how vast the universe really is.
