Currently at the top of the PTSA priority list is nominations for next year's officers. If you are interested in serving as an officer, even remotely, please don't hesitate to reach out to wshsptsa@gmail.com to discuss. Without a President, Secretary, and Treasurer, the PTSA doesn't exist.
We have 2 volunteers and need 1 more to be on the Nominating Committee. Again, please connect with us at wshsptsa@gmail.com if you are interested in this short term comment.

We're back on Zoom and have Fairfax County School Board Chair Sandy Anderson as our guest speaker. This is your opportunity to ask questions and get direct feedback.
The WSHS All Night Grad Part (ANGP) team can still use volunteers to help raise money for this year's ANGP. This is the biggest (and primary) fundraiser for the All Night Grad Party. Please reach out to wshsangp@gmail.com with any questions. First step is to sign up for the Jiffy Lube training here (the last one is May 12) - and fill out this form for the ANGP committee. This volunteer role is to take the Jiffy Lube training in order to sell at the concessions stand at an upcoming Jiffy Lube concert of your choice (free entry!). A portion of the concessions sales goes to the ANGP.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, and we're hoping to stock the breakrooms on May 1st!
Stay tuned for an announcement about this year's Scholarships for Success applications. We anticipate opening the program this week and applications being due May 1st.

PTA Nominating Committee - 2026-2027 -
We need YOU! - (we have 2 and need 1 more PTSA member) to be the nominating committee for next year's PTSA officers. This is a very short term commitment that ends once the nominees are identified and presented during the general membership meeting in May. Please email wshsptsa@gmail.com if you are interested in being on the nominating committee and/or if you are interested in being a PTSA officer next year. And Thank You!
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, and we're planning to stock all 11 break rooms at the school. See the links for donating or helping.
The PTSA is also providing a catered lunch during that week. If you want to donate items to help with the lunch, please reach out to wshsptsa@gmail.com.

store - I joined last year / this past spring. Do I need to join again? YES! Our membership year lasts from July 1 - June 30, so if you haven't joined for the current year in the last few weeks, please join for this year!

Why should I join? This is our school. We can keep it a great school by doing our part, or we can hope others do it for us. Be part of the people doing their part, and help support an organization that advocates for our children and schools! See our list of other reasons at https://wshsptsa.net/join/
membership/ - If I join, will I be asked to do things? You can just pay your dues and not do anything else if you want. Totally up to you. We'll share volunteer opportunities and opportunities for donations to teacher appreciation and other events, but joining doesn't commit you to doing anything else. The most important step is joining. I hear too often "I didn't join because I don't have time to do things." Don't let that stop you. If that's the case, we're happy to just take your financial support-- we'll put it to good use!
