We appreciate the varied life experiences they bring to our school community, and recognize their strength and resilience. Attendance Reminders

We want to remind students and families about the importance of being in class on time and coming to school each day. Attendance is of the utmost importance, not only for academic success but to ensure your safety. Students may speak to their administrator or school counselor if there is something going on that might prevent them from being on time to school and to classes.

If students continue to be tardy to school they will meet with your administrator to further discuss.  We will follow the Student Rights and Responsibilities when imposing consequences for tardiness. These consequences can include suspension of a parking pass.

Additionally, to help emphasize the importance of arriving to all classes on time, we will be conducting random Tardy Sweeps at the start of class periods and emailing families when students are tardy. Students late during multiple tardy sweeps will meet with their administrator to further discuss.

Oakton Internship Program

The Oakton Internship application is live for seniors.  The application is due by the end of the day on April 17, 2026. There will be a box in the main office to collect the completed applications. Students must complete both the Google Form and the physical forms for their application to be complete. The link and all information regarding the internship is available on the Class of 2026 Schoology page. Students must be signed in to their fcpsschools.net account to access the application. If students have any questions they should follow up with Ms. Landis or Ms. Weber.

Student Services

Tutoring Resources for Families

Some families may be looking for additional resources to help support their child’s academic success. The FCPS Family Resource Center (FRC) maintains a list of FCPS employees who hold a valid Virginia teaching credential and who are available to hire as tutors. This list is a resource offered by the FRC, but families are responsible for contacting and working directly with the tutors. This list is not approved by FCPS and is only meant to be a resource to families.

FCPS also partners with Varsity Tutors to provide students and families with extra resources for learning. Every student can take advantage of Varsity Tutors' services, at no cost, including weekly live online classes, on-demand 24/7 chat tutoring, essay editing, and study resources such as recorded content, practice problems, and diagnostic tests.
